
This project focused on UI/UX improvements for the CafeMaker platform, a cafe startup support service designed to reduce risk through personalized estimates and consulting, while helping founders strengthen competitiveness through market trends and concept differentiation.
To meet the client’s request for higher operational efficiency, we redesigned and rebuilt key interfaces across both web and app environments—especially the trade-area analysis feature and the inquiry management system—so founders can use the platform’s core functions more intuitively and efficiently.
As a result, the platform significantly improved accessibility to essential startup information and increased workflow efficiency across the preparation journey, enabling founders to plan their business more systematically and confidently.

The client requested a founder-centered UI upgrade so first-time cafe entrepreneurs could navigate and use the platform more easily. This included simplifying complex menu structures, improving information discoverability, and presenting startup-related content in a clearer, more logical order to reduce learning cost. The platform needed to visually organize complicated processes with step-by-step guidance, while maintaining consistent UX across mobile and desktop so users could access startup information anytime, anywhere.
In particular, usability improvements were strongly requested for two core features: trade-area analysis and inquiry management. Users reported that viewing and understanding trade-area data took too long and felt overly complex, so the analysis experience needed to be redesigned for faster access and clearer interpretation. Map-based visualization and stronger filtering were required to help users quickly find relevant locations and conditions. For the consulting inquiry system, the client requested a simplified inquiry flow, smarter handling such as better routing or matching by inquiry type, and a tracking experience that lets users check progress in real time—supported by faster feedback loops to raise satisfaction.
Lastly, the client wanted the UI/UX to enhance trust and professionalism as a specialized cafe startup platform. The existing experience felt too similar to general information sites, so a more premium and credible brand impression was needed. This included improving how analysis results and data visualizations are presented, and strategically reinforcing expertise through elements such as success cases, expert profiles, or credibility cues—so users feel confident making startup decisions through the platform.
We completed a full UI redesign across both web and app, rebuilding the screen structure around the real startup preparation journey. The previous complex navigation was reorganized into a step-based flow so users can access information and features in a natural sequence. Layouts were redesigned to reflect user behavior patterns and content priority, improving overall clarity and usability.
We also improved the trade-area analysis feature by simplifying the data-checking flow and strengthening visual communication. By restructuring the analysis UI to highlight key insights first and reducing unnecessary complexity, users can interpret trade-area information faster and more confidently, supporting better decision-making for location selection.
For inquiry management, we newly developed and optimized interfaces that support the full cycle—from submitting a consulting inquiry to reviewing history and receiving responses. The experience was structured so both founders and operators can manage communication efficiently, enabling quicker handling and clearer status management across the consultation process.
To ensure accessibility for non-experts, we applied user-friendly UX patterns and optimized touch interactions. This included improving key action placement, simplifying interactions, and making screen transitions more intuitive—especially in mobile environments where usability directly impacts engagement.
Finally, we aligned web and app design tone-and-manner to deliver a consistent brand experience. With responsive implementation and standardized UI guidelines, the platform now provides a unified experience across devices while maintaining functional consistency and a more professional visual identity.
