This project is an end-to-end web development initiative to build a marketing landing site for Scopely’s VILLAINS, designed to promote the game and drive user acquisition. From CMS to the public-facing web pages, the entire system was developed as a unified solution.
A CMS was implemented so the game operations team could update and manage content without developer support, enabling a dynamic management environment where changes are reflected in real time.
In addition, DevFive’s proprietary multi-login prevention system and proven security stack were applied to strengthen the platform’s reliability. A serverless infrastructure architecture was also introduced to significantly reduce operational costs while maintaining scalability and stability.
1️⃣ High-Quality Landing Page to Express the Game’s Worldbuilding
The client requested a high-quality landing page that effectively communicates the unique world, tone, and atmosphere of VILLAINS. The page needed to present the game’s core concept, story, and character appeal with strong visual impact so visitors immediately feel interest and curiosity. Design elements had to align with the genre and target audience, and the site needed to be fully responsive across mobile, tablet, and desktop while delivering a consistent user experience with device-optimized layouts and interactions.
2️⃣ Non-Developer-Friendly Content Management System (CMS)
The client requested a CMS that allows non-developers to easily update and manage content. Because game launch timelines involve frequent updates, the operations team needed to edit text, images, and videos quickly without developer intervention. Real-time publishing was required so changes could be applied immediately and visitors could always access the latest information.
3️⃣ Secure and Cost-Efficient Web Infrastructure for Stable Operations
To ensure reliable service during the high-traffic launch period, the client requested a secure and efficient infrastructure with strong stability and scalability. The platform needed to withstand traffic spikes and defend against threats such as hacking attempts and DDoS attacks. At the same time, the infrastructure had to optimize operating costs while maintaining required performance and security, establishing a sustainable long-term operations model.
💡 CMS-Integrated Web Pages with Real-Time Content Updates
A CMS-driven architecture was successfully implemented so content edits are reflected instantly on the site. Non-developers can freely manage core content such as text, images, and sections, enabling real-time delivery of the latest updates. This reduced reliance on developers during frequent release-cycle changes and established an autonomous content operations workflow.
💡 Service Stability via DevFive Multi-Login Prevention and Security Systems
DevFive’s internal security technology was applied to block unauthorized access and prevent multi-login sessions. A layered security framework was implemented to protect user data and sensitive game-related content, improving overall service reliability and ensuring a trustworthy platform experience.
💡 Cost Optimization Through AWS-Based Serverless Infrastructure
An AWS-based serverless architecture was introduced to achieve both cost reduction and high scalability. This significantly lowered server management overhead while enabling automatic scaling in response to traffic fluctuations. The system was designed to handle large launch-period traffic reliably, and usage-based billing maximized cost efficiency for a sustainable long-term operating model.
💡 Responsive UI/UX Reflecting the VILLAINS World and Tone
A fully responsive UI/UX was implemented for desktop, tablet, and mobile environments. The design delivers an immersive interface aligned with the game’s worldbuilding and tone, effectively showcasing the unique atmosphere of VILLAINS. Consistent cross-device experiences were ensured while optimizing layout and interaction patterns for each device type, enabling users to naturally engage with the game’s universe.
