Last Wednesday, I attended the Software Maestro Homecoming Day hosted by the Ministry of Science and ICT. I had the opportunity to present on the theme of "Open Source and IT Companies," where I was able to organize and share my thoughts about open source that I've developed while running DevFive.

To be honest, many people think of open source simply as "free code you can use." While that's not wrong, the value of open source that I've experienced while running the company has been much deeper and broader than that.

In my presentation, I talked about the positive changes that open source brings to companies. I explained the role open source plays in creating a healthy developer culture, how it directly and indirectly improves technical pipelines, how it contributes to management efficiency, and why open source is important for building external trust, all centered around cases we've experienced firsthand.

What I realized once again while preparing was that open source is not simply a technical tool. It has the power to change how companies grow, the culture in which developers work, and even the attitude with which we communicate externally. That's why I believe open source can be the foundation that enables companies and the entire industrial ecosystem to grow together.

I want to continue sharing and spreading the value of open source with more developers and a broader ecosystem going forward. I hope this Homecoming Day serves as one of those starting points.
