Hello.

DevFive CEO Jeongmin Oh received the Minister of Unification Award at the “2030 Unification Future End-to-End Debate (Hackathon)” after proposing a Korean braille technology idea to support visually impaired people in both South and North Korea.

Held under the theme “Building the Future of a Unified Korean Peninsula Through Youth Ideas,” the event selected 50 young participants in their 20s and 30s from across the country and ran as a competition where teams proposed and developed creative unification-related ideas.

Participants formed 10 teams and presented forward-looking solutions across a wide range of topics, including the climate crisis, rural depopulation, separated families, and energy challenges. At this event, Team “IroulE,” which proposed a Korean braille technology idea for visually impaired people in both Koreas, won the grand prize (Minister of Unification Award).

In addition, Team “I-eum” received the Excellence Award (President of the National Institute for Peaceful Unification and Democratic Education Award) for presenting “Gohyang,” a platform that restores and centrally manages the life records of separated families using AI technology. Team “Monsters” won the Merit Award (President of the National Institute for Peaceful Unification and Democratic Education Award) for presenting the “Red Flavor” app, which uses AI technology to create engaging cultural content related to North Korea.

The Institute stated, “Based on young people’s ideas and participation, we plan to continue expanding participatory and experiential unification education programs.”
