DevFive will host an open-source sprint at PyCon 2025 featuring “Braillify,” Korea’s first open-source, cross-platform braille translation library (Braille → Korean).

At PyCon 2025—Korea’s largest Python developer conference—DevFive will run an open-source sprint built around its innovative braille translation library, Braillify. The sprint, titled “Braillify: Korea’s First Open-Source, Cross-Platform Braille Translation (Braille → Korean) Library!”, will bring developers together to create meaningful accessibility innovation and help expand access to information for people with visual impairments.

Braillify is Korea’s first open-source, cross-platform library that converts braille into Korean. It delivers both high performance and broad usability: the core engine is written in Rust for optimized speed, and it is distributed for both Python and Node.js, making it easy for developers to integrate across multiple environments.

Notably, Braillify is being developed to fully reflect the revised 2024 Korean Braille standards. By providing accurate translation aligned with the latest rules, it helps reduce linguistic barriers between Korean text and braille—and contributes to narrowing communication gaps between people with and without visual impairments.

Through this PyCon 2025 sprint, members of the open-source community will have the opportunity to collaborate and contribute directly to improving and expanding Braillify. Participants can create social impact through real code contributions while gaining hands-on experience in accessibility-focused software development.

DevFive aims to use this sprint to advance both the open-source ecosystem and inclusive technology innovation, while continuing to build long-term collaboration with the developer community.
